Product Care

Follow these instructions to make sure your product will last a lifetime!

Wood Sign Care

Indoor Sign Care

Our handcrafted wood signs are made from pine or poplar. If used indoors, your sign should last for years with no additional maintainance needed. Some wood does "yellow" on occasion with age, but that is usually only noticable on wood that has a "natural finsih" or is not stained. To give your sign the best chance at keeping it's original condition for years, we recommend applying a single coat of spray shellac available at most big box stores.

Outdoor Sign Care

If you plan in displaying your sign outside, make sure to select "Outdoor Finish" while ordering. All of our outdoor finished signs are coated with 2-3 coats of spray polyurethane. We recommend keeping your sign covered while outside to avoid direct sunlight, rain, snow, etc. We also recommend applying 1-2 coats of polyurethane once every year to extend the life of your sign. Your sign is wood, and without proper upkeep, the Alaskan weather will eventually wear out your sign. With regular re-finishing, your sign will last for many years.

Please note that if you ordered a sign with "Indoor Finish" and plan to use it outside, you must apply several coats of polyurethane or spar urethane to the sign, or it will likley be ruined within months. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding sign maintainance.

Wood Flag Care

Our wood flags are built in much the same way as our wood signs are. Make sure to select "Indoor" or "Outdoor" finish as an option depending on where your flag will be displayed.

Indoor Flag Care

Our handcrafted wood flags are made from solid pine. If displayed indoors, your flag should last for years with no additional maintainance needed. Cutting / Charcuterie Board Care

DO NOT PUT YOUR CUTTING OR CHARCUTERIE BOARD IN THE DISHWASHER!

We recommend using warm water and mild soap to hand wash your cutting or charcuterie board and then letting it air dry. Be sure to dry with a towel to absorb any standing water after washing to avoid the wood from warping. If you put your board in the dishwasher IT WILL DAMAGE THE BOARD!

We finish all of our cutting and charcuterie boards with natural food safe mineral oil. We recommend to re-apply a fresh coat of mineral oil once every 6 months to 1 year depending on board use. You can find mineral oil at most grocery stores and pharmacies as well as online, but do make sure that it is food safe. Simply wipe on some oil, and then wipe off any excess after about 5 minutes. Make sure to clean your board before applying any oil, and to let the oil fully dry for at least 24 hours. For added durability you can also apply a natural cutting / charcuterie board wax film to your board which can be found online.
